Sant’Anna
choreographic performance
Sant’Anna is a performance inspired by autobiographical events, offering an intimate exploration of motherhood as seen through the eyes of a son. The piece navigates the complex layers of maternal identity — its tenderness, strength, and also its unspoken pain. Behind the sacred image of the mother lies a shared struggle, veiled by societal expectations and shaped by the pervasive weight of patriarchy.
The work presents a single female figure as the embodiment of many — a convergence of experiences suspended between empathy and emancipation. The language of the body is sculpted through falls and recoveries, where the relationship with gravity becomes a metaphor for the human condition: a continuous negotiation between collapse and resilience, between oppression and the desire for liberation.
